Job Description

About the Role

We’re seeking a UX Researcher who thrives in ambiguity and is skilled at designing and executing studies that drive clarity in product development. This is not a generalist role — we’re looking for someone who understands how to shape user insight into product strategy, who is comfortable defending research trade-offs in cross-functional meetings, and who has experience embedding research into fast-paced product teams. You will work closely with designers, product managers, and data analysts to prioritize research that de-risks decisions and uncovers unmet needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead generative and evaluative research across complex product surfaces (web + native), from early exploration to post-launch validation.
  • Design and conduct mixed-method studies including in-depth interviews, usability testing (remote & moderated), diary studies, fieldwork, and concept testing.
  • Collaborate with design and product to frame research questions and translate findings into clear recommendations.
  • Build and maintain a structured repository of research insights and facilitate access across product and engineering teams.
  • Develop frameworks and personas grounded in user data to support product planning and roadmap prioritization.
  • Present findings to senior stakeholders and provide clear narratives that connect research to business outcomes.
  • Proactively identify research opportunities and gaps in existing knowledge.
  • Mentor junior researchers or support cross-functional partners in adopting lightweight research methods.

Required Qualifications

  • 3–5 years of applied UX research experience in a product-focused environment (SaaS, enterprise, or consumer tech preferred).
  • Strong command of qualitative research methods, with demonstrated ability to determine when and how to apply them.
  • Familiarity with behavioral data analysis; able to collaborate effectively with data scientists and triangulate findings.
  • Experience conducting research for complex user flows, particularly in systems with multiple user types or roles.
  • Exceptional synthesis and communication skills; able to distill raw data into actionable insights for technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Portfolio or case studies demonstrating research impact on shipped product decisions.
  • Proficiency with research tools such as Dovetail, Lookback, Optimal Workshop, or similar.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Psychology, Sociology, Design Research, or related field.
