The Role : Crafting trust and simplicity
We are seeking a talented and empathetic UX Designer to join our founding design and product team. You will be responsible for understanding the unique needs, challenges, and mental models of the self-employed segment and translating them into intuitive, trustworthy, and delightful user experiences across our mobile application.
Your primary challenge will be making complex financial concepts, compliance requirements (like CKYC and SIP processing), and investment tracking simple and accessible to a diverse user base.
Key Responsibilities :
User research and Empathy :
– Deep Dive : Plan, conduct, and synthesize user research (interviews, surveys, usability testing) with our self-employed users to deeply understand their financial habits, literacy levels, and barriers to investment.
– Persona Development : Define and maintain detailed user personas, journey maps, and empathy maps to guide product decisions and ensure the user’s voice is central to development.
Design Execution and Prototyping :
– Concept to Completion : Drive the design process from initial concept and low-fidelity wireframes through to high-fidelity prototypes and polished UI design.
– Interaction Design : Design seamless, goal-oriented user flows for critical journeys such as onboarding, KYC completion, making a new SIP, tracking portfolio growth, and managing withdrawals.
– Prototyping : Create interactive prototypes using design tools to rapidly test and iterate on design concepts with users and internal stakeholders.
Collaboration and Optimization :
– Cross-Functional Partnership : Collaborate closely with the Founders, Product Managers, and Engineering teams to define product requirements, manage design debt, and ensure technical feasibility.
– Design System : Contribute to and maintain Bachatts design system and UI library to ensure visual consistency, accessibility, and speed of execution.
– Data-Driven Design : Work with analytics teams to utilize quantitative data (A/B tests, funnel metrics) alongside qualitative insights to continuously optimize the user experience and drive key business metrics (conversion, retention, SIP completion).
What you’ll bring :
– Experience : 3+ years of professional experience as a UX Designer, Product Designer, or similar role, preferably on a consumer-facing mobile application.
– Portfolio : A strong portfolio showcasing end-to-end design process, demonstrating your skills in user research, complex interaction design, visual design, and problemsolving.
– Domain Focus : Prior experience designing for Fintech, Wealth Management, or high-security/compliance-heavy applications is a significant advantage.
– Empathy : Proven ability to design for non-expert users and simplify complex, datarich processes.
– Communication : Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate design rationale and strategy to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Design Tools Expertise :
– Core Tool : Mastery of modern design and prototyping tools, particularly Figma.
– Research Tools : Familiarity with user testing platforms and tools for creating surveys and heatmaps.
