Job Description

Key tasks

  • Collaborate with the product management and development team to establish clear design guidelines, best practice and standards.
  • Conduct user research, interviews and surveys, translating them into personas, user journeys, sitemaps, workflows, wireframes, mock-ups and prototypes
  • Collaborate with the development team to bring your designs to life
  • Collaborate with customers, product management, marketing and engineering to design the overall patterns, styles and functionality of the product and iterate designs to ensure a great user experience.
  • Facilitate the product vision working with MVPs conceptualizing, visualizing and communicating ideas throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Ensure UX/UI consistency across product families, using comprehensive methods and tools to share that vision
  • Creating unique UX experiences based on the needs of different groups of users
  • Use analytics and metrics (aka data) to make informed design decisions.
  • Prepare UI assets for development team including style guides, style sheets, icons, toolbars, etc

About you

  •  You know global trends in design and can implement best practice where possible.
  • You know there isn’t one single answer to a design problem and can suggest alternatives based on your experience and customer research.
  • You are a leader. You will be working with the development team and you will be enhancing their capacity through your design experience through both doing and teaching.
  • You can create a great design for a product and you can also clearly articulate the logic and justification behind the design and how it meets both business and user goals.
  • You are excited to present your design to anyone, at any level of the business. You can also work side by side with our developers to modify your solutions as new information comes to hand.
  • You are part of the local UX community and can use this network and knowledge to help you make great decisions. You attend meetups to learn the latest trends, techniques and skills.
  • You have a clear understanding of the importance of user-centred design. A solid grasp of testing methodologies, and usability and accessibility concerns.
  • You have extensive experience in using UX design best practices to design solutions for desktop and web products. Experience with mobile UI highly regarded as we will be developing companion mobile apps
  • Demonstrated experience in crafting usable digital interfaces using Figma and Adobe XD.
