Job Description

Duties of the UI Designer (Front End Developer)

• Define user‑centric designs, iterate and improve to add additional value, based on user feedback;
• Be responsible for user‑focused UI designs and specification of user flows, prototypes, high‑fidelity interfaces;
• Implement UI components using HTML/CSS and JavaScript;
• Coach back‑end engineers on usability and front‑end development
• Tackle complex problems and transform them into intuitive, easy‑to‑use designs; communicate them via user flows, wireframes, and prototypes
• Translate and problem‑solve designs, POCs and wireframes into modules and high‑quality code for optimal usability and accessibility outcomes

Skills and Experience Required

• Demonstrated experience designing user interfaces within an existing style guide and/or design system using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript frameworks such as ReactJS and/or Angular;
• Knowledge and implementation of accessibility requirements – (WCAG) 2.1, level AA as a minimum;
• Demonstrated experience designing wireframes, user interfaces, and interactive prototypes with high attention to detail and the ability to rapidly prototype, test, and iterate designs;
• Tertiary qualifications in a design or computer science/ICT‑related discipline.
