Telecommunications Field Engineer

Job Description

Key Responsibilities
• Install, commission and maintain telecommunications network infrastructure.
• Perform testing, fault diagnosis and performance optimisation of telecommunications equipment.
• Configure and integrate telecommunications systems with IP networks and enterprise infrastructure.
• Conduct fibre optic testing, splicing and commissioning.
• Support wireless, microwave and radio communication systems.
• Prepare technical documentation, reports and as-built records.
• Liaise with customers, contractors and project stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with WHS requirements and telecommunications standards.
• Provide technical support during network upgrades and deployments.
• Participate in field surveys, site inspections and commissioning activities.

Essential Skills & Experience
• Diploma, Advanced Diploma or higher qualification in Telecommunications, Electronics, Networking or related Engineering discipline.
• Experience with telecommunications field engineering activities.
• Knowledge of fibre optic, Ethernet, IP networking and wireless technologies.
• Experience with telecommunications testing equipment.
• Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills.
