Job Description

The Technology Service Desk Officer is responsible for:

  • Providing frontline (Level 1) IT support across Council’s systems, platforms, and devices
  • Triaging, logging, prioritising, and assigning incidents and service requests through the Service Desk platform
  • Troubleshooting common issues related to access, devices, applications, and connectivity
  • Monitoring system status and escalating complex issues to Level 2 support where required
  • Assisting with the setup, deployment, and basic maintenance of end-user hardware and peripherals

The Senior Technology Support Officer is responsible for:

  • Deliver Level 2 support through the Service Desk channels, including escalations from Level 1
  • Deploy and maintain end-user devices, servers, and network hardware in a Microsoft environment
  • Troubleshoot Microsoft 365, Windows Server environments, cybersecurity tools, business apps, and communication systems.
  • Resolve incidents and requests efficiently, following ITIL-aligned processes
  • Maintain technical and user documentation to support continuity and self-help initiatives
  • Support projects, infrastructure work, and scheduled after-hours tasks

The Technology Infrastructure Specialist is responsible for:

  • Providing Level 3 support across Council’s server, network, cloud, and end-user environments
  • Administering core platforms including Microsoft 365, Azure, Windows Server, backup systems, and cybersecurity tools
  • Monitoring and maintaining performance and availability across infrastructure and operational technology systems
  • Diagnosing and resolving complex technical issues to ensure system stability and continuity of service
  • Installing and maintaining physical infrastructure, including communications and operational technology hardware, in line with safety standards
  • Contributing to infrastructure projects, scheduled after-hours work, and the delivery of Council’s IT Managed Services Program
