Job Description


RESPONSIBILITES:

Strategic Network Architecture & Domain Leadership

  • Serve as the ITS domain expert for LAN, WAN, wireless, and unified communications.
  • Research, design, and architect robust, scalable, and secure network solutions.
  • Develop and maintain technology standards, documentation, and best practices.
  • Collaborate with leadership to assess long‑term capacity and technology needs.
  • Analyze performance metrics and incident trends to proactively engineer improvements.
  • Provide advanced mentoring and act as the highest technical escalation point.

Project Management & Implementation Oversight

  • Create and execute complex project plans for major network initiatives, including new construction and renovations.
  • Manage day‑to‑day operations of large-scale infrastructure projects and coordinate resources.
  • Oversee installation, configuration, and optimization of network hardware, software, and communication links.
  • Interact and negotiate with vendors, contractors, and service providers.

Advanced Operational Support

  • Lead resolution of the most complex escalated network issues.
  • Maintain awareness of current and emerging network technology trends.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree required (additional related experience may substitute year‑for‑year).
  • Experience: 5+ years designing, implementing, and managing complex enterprise network environments.
  • Proven experience leading large‑scale technology projects end‑to‑end.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

  • Expert‑level knowledge of enterprise networking, including LAN/WAN, routing, switching, firewalls, and wireless technologies across Cisco, Juniper, Palo Alto, and Fortinet ecosystems.
  • Deep understanding of DNS, DHCP, VPN, VLANs, and firewall administration, including next‑generation firewall (NGFW) platforms such as Palo Alto and Fortinet.
  • Deep understanding of network capacity planning, security principles, and best practices.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem‑solving skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Desirable Skills

  • Advanced certifications (CCNP, CCIE, etc.).
  • Experience with infrastructure automation (scripting/programming).
