Your new role

As a Lead Systems Integration Engineer, you will play a pivotal role within the project leadership team. You will lead and mentor a multidisciplinary engineering team, driving the integration of complex mechanical and electrical systems within a highly regulated environment.

Key responsibilities include:

• Leading systems integration, design assurance, and technical delivery across complex engineering programs
• Managing and coaching a high-performing team of engineers to achieve project outcomes
• Acting as the key technical interface with clients, regulatory bodies, and subcontractors
• Driving innovation, efficiency, and continuous improvement across design and integration processes
• Overseeing risk identification, mitigation, and compliance across the design lifecycle
• Ensuring high-quality technical outcomes aligned to project scope, schedule, and budget
• Providing strategic input while supporting senior technical leadership in shaping delivery

This role offers true leadership autonomy, giving you the space to influence both technical direction and team performance.

What you’ll need to succeed

• ~10+ years’ experience in a senior engineering or systems integration leadership role
• Background within defence, maritime, or complex engineering environments
• Strong experience across systems integration, mechanical and electrical design coordination
• Deep understanding of relevant regulations, standards, and design assurance processes
• Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and engage senior stakeholders
• Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, and commercial awareness
• Strong communication and leadership skills, with a coaching mindset
• Tertiary qualifications in Engineering or a related discipline

You’ll be proactive, adaptable, and outcome-driven, with the ability to thrive in a fast-moving environment where priorities evolve and innovation is encouraged.
