Job Description

What You’ll Do

This role offers a broad scope, with key role responsibilities including:

  • Lead the development and delivery of the project System Safety Program, including hazard identification, safety analyses, risk management activities, and certification support across the capability lifecycle.
  • Lead systems engineering activities across requirements development, system design, integration, verification and validation (V&V), and technical certification.
  • Develop and maintain the Systems Engineering Management Plan, Technical Certification Plan, engineering metrics, and technical performance measures.
  • Manage the system requirements set and agreed technical baseline throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Plan and lead System Design Reviews and Detailed Design Reviews, including the review and approval of engineering and technical deliverables produced by the Systems Integration Partner (SIP).

What You’ll Bring

  • Professional engineering qualifications in a relevant discipline, together with more than eight years’ relevant industry experience or higher degree qualifications.
  • Extensive experience delivering systems engineering services, including requirements development and management, systems integration, V&V, test and evaluation, and certification.
  • Experience developing or reviewing engineering plans, procedures, design documentation, hazard analyses, specialist engineering reports and contract deliverables.
  • Experience in electrical engineering, RF environments, wireless or digital communications, signal conversion techniques, or integration on complex platforms, with Defence or maritime experience highly regarded.
  • Knowledge of relevant Australian and international engineering standards, Defence requirements, quality and configuration management, and continuous improvement practices.

Due to the nature of the work, you are required to currently hold and maintain an AGSVA Security Clearance as required by the Commonwealth. Compliance with International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) requirements is also an inherent requirement of this role.
