Your new role

As a Systems Engineer, you will play a key role in specifying, developing, implementing and verifying engineering solutions across a range of defence programs. Your responsibilities will include:
– Conducting major engineering tasks within an integrated project engineering team.
– Developing functional, practical and testable requirements that meet customer and regulatory needs.
– Performing functional decomposition, systems modelling and solution analysis.
– Producing engineering documentation, reports, specifications and design artefacts.
– Defining verification methods and preparing verification plans and procedures.
– Maintaining requirements traceability throughout the engineering lifecycle.
– Reviewing work produced by peers and less‑experienced engineers.
– Contributing to project planning, scheduling and system design activities.

What you’ll need to succeed

– Tertiary degree in Engineering (MIEAust‑eligible).
– Experience in systems engineering (multiple levels considered).
– Strong experience in requirements development, traceability and verification planning.
– Familiarity with IBM DOORS and Model‑Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools (e.g., SysML, Capella, Arcadia).
– Ability to interpret complex technical information and communicate effectively with stakeholders.
– Strong problem‑solving, analytical and decision‑making capabilities.
– Demonstrated ability to work to tight deadlines with minimal supervision.
