We are seeking a System Administrator with a strong foundation in managing hybrid Windows/Linux environments and a proactive approach to automation, uptime, and security. This role will be directly responsible for maintaining the health and performance of 40+ servers across two datacenters and three cloud environments (AWS, Azure, private VMware), supporting a 24/7 manufacturing operation with high availability requirements. You’ll also work closely with network engineering and cybersecurity teams to ensure seamless and secure systems operation.

The ideal candidate is someone who thrives in fast-paced, production-critical environments, has a track record of identifying bottlenecks before they escalate, and is comfortable deploying scripts, updates, and configuration changes at scale. You’ll be key in pushing forward our initiative to reduce manual administration through infrastructure-as-code practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deploy and maintain Active Directory, Group Policy, DHCP, DNS, and file services.
  • Maintain automation scripts for server provisioning, patching, and configuration using Ansible, PowerShell, or Bash.
  • Support containerized applications running on Docker and Kubernetes (on-prem and EKS).
  • Perform root cause analysis and remediation of system issues using system logs, telemetry dashboards, and performance metrics.
  • Collaborate with cybersecurity team to enforce OS-level hardening, vulnerability patching, and configuration baselines (CIS/NIST).
  • Manage and audit user access across internal systems, SSO platforms (Okta), and cloud identity providers.
  • Plan and execute server migrations, version upgrades, and performance tuning projects with minimal business disruption.
  • Maintain documentation for configuration, recovery procedures, and infrastructure changes in Confluence.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field OR equivalent hands-on experience (5+ years).
  • Minimum 3 years of direct experience administering Windows Server and Linux in production.
  • Proficiency with PowerShell and one of the following: Bash, Python, or Ansible.
  • Experience with virtualization platforms (VMware vSphere, Hyper-V) and managing VM lifecycle.
  • Demonstrated experience managing hybrid environments (on-prem + AWS or Azure).
  • Familiarity with monitoring systems such as Prometheus, Grafana, or Zabbix.
  • Strong grasp of DNS, TCP/IP, VPNs, and general network troubleshooting.
  • Able to participate in an on-call rotation (once every 5–6 weeks).

Preferred:

  • Certifications: Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate, Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA), or similar.
  • Experience deploying infrastructure via Terraform or other IaC tools.
  • Exposure to Zero Trust or SASE implementation strategies.
  • Prior experience supporting manufacturing or industrial systems (OT/IOT integration a plus).
