Job Description

We are looking for a Sugars Product Development Specialist to join Fibenol’s development team, with a focus on developing and scaling the production process and product properties of sugars.

In this role, you will lead sugars development activities from defining objectives and preparing test plans to conducting trials, analysing results, and planning the next development steps. Your goal will be to optimise the properties of sugars, expand their potential applications, and develop and scale up sugar purification processes.

The work will take place in Fibenol’s laboratory and on the pilot line at our development plant in Imavere, as well as in cooperation with external development, technology, and manufacturing partners.

In this role, you will…

  • plan and execute sugars product development projects and test programmes, including designing trials and test batches;
  • coordinate laboratory, pilot-scale, and partner trials;
  • analyse test results, draw conclusions, and plan the next development steps;
  • develop and optimise the sugars production process and product properties;
  • assess the need for new technological solutions and equipment and coordinate their implementation;
  • collaborate with Fibenol’s laboratory, technology, and production teams, as well as external development, equipment, and manufacturing partners;
  • systematically document development results and the knowledge generated;
  • participate hands-on in laboratory and pilot trials when needed.

You will be a good fit for our team if…

  • you have a Master’s degree in a technical field;
  • you have a systematic and analytical mindset and strong data analysis skills;
  • you are able to independently plan and lead development activities;
  • you are comfortable with hands-on laboratory work;;
  • you are independent, responsible, and willing to travel for work;
  • you hold a Category B driving licence.

Knowledge of chemistry, chemical engineering, and separation and purification processes, such as adsorption, membrane processes, and ion exchange, will be considered an advantage. Previous experience in product development, process development, or pilot-scale trials is also an advantage.
