Job Description

We’re looking for a sharp, curious Software Tester who thrives in uncovering the unexpected. This role is not about running scripted tests—it’s about thinking like a user, digging into edge cases, and building automation that’s actually trustworthy. You’ll work closely with developers, designers, and product managers to test both what’s built and what’s missing. If you enjoy asking “what if?”, breaking things early, and backing it all up with clean automation, this might be your kind of team.

What You’ll Do

  • Exploratory Testing as a First-Class Citizen
Push beyond test cases—probe edge cases, question assumptions, and investigate failures from a user’s lens. You’ll be part detective, part critic.
  • Build and Maintain Intelligent Automation
Write and maintain Selenium and Playwright scripts (JavaScript/TypeScript preferred). But we don’t want flaky test suites—you’ll design automation that fails only when it should.
  • API-Level Verification
Use tools like Postman, Insomnia, or direct scripts to validate backend responses. You’ll work closely with backend developers to verify business logic and payload structure.
  • Data-Oriented Testing
Understand the product’s underlying data models. Be able to validate with SQL or mock realistic data sets for test environments.
  • Contribute to Test Strategy, Not Just Execution
Participate in release risk assessments, test planning, and bug triaging. Your insights will influence when and how we ship.
  • Break Early, Not Late
Integrate with the CI/CD pipeline (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or similar) to ensure bugs don’t survive to staging.

What You’ll Need

  • 3–5 years of hands-on software testing experience
  • Proven ability to design tests without step-by-step instructions
  • Fluency in at least one scripting language used for test automation (JS/TS preferred)
  • Experience writing regression-safe, readable test cases—both manual and automated
  • Familiarity with modern bug tracking & test management tools (e.g., JIRA, TestRail)
  • Working knowledge of Git-based workflows
  • Comfort interrogating logs, browser dev tools, and error tracking dashboards (e.g., Sentry)

Bonus If You Have

  • Experience testing highly interactive UIs or real-time data streams
  • Exposure to feature-flag driven deployments and A/B testing validation
  • Prior work in a team practicing shift-left testing or test-driven development
  • Interest in usability testing or accessibility audits
