Software Engineer (Backend or Full Stack)

Job Description

We’re looking for a Backend-leaning Software Engineer (Java/Kotlin) to join a small, high-performing team building production-grade AI systems.

You’ll be expected to:

• Take ownership of problems
• Design and build solutions
• Ship features end-to-end into production

What You’ll Be Doing

• Designing and building backend services using Java/Kotlin (Spring Boot)
• Working on real-time, high-impact product features
• Owning features from idea → design → production
• Improving performance, scalability, and reliability of systems
• Collaborating directly with product and founders in a fast-paced environment

Tech Environment

• Java / Kotlin (Spring Boot)
• PostgreSQL
• Kubernetes / cloud infrastructure
• React (for those with full-stack capability)

What We’re Actually Looking For

This is where you filter properly:

• Strong backend fundamentals (Java/Kotlin + APIs)
• Experience building and shipping production systems
• Comfortable working with ambiguity and ownership
• Has worked in:
  • product companies OR
  • startup / scale-up environments

What Won’t Work

• Pure frontend engineers
• DevOps/QA-heavy backgrounds
• Engineers who haven’t owned features end-to-end
• Highly corporate / process-driven environments / Consulting backgrounds

Level

• Strong mid-level engineers (3–6 years)
• OR senior engineers who are still hands-on
