Software Engineer
Job Description
What the role is all aboutDesign and develop robust, scalable solutions for our platform, collaborating with cross-functional teams (in the squad/portfolio level) to deliver high-quality products.Write clean, maintainable code with comprehensive test coverage to ensure reliability and performance.Effective use of AI tools such as Github co-pilot, claude code or similar to enable delivery efficiency.Participate in technical design discussions, code reviews, and architecture planning to ensure alignment with our technical vision.Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues, both in development and production environments.Continuously refactor and improve existing codebases, reducing technical debt and enhancing system performance.Share knowledge across teams through pairing sessions, documentation, and technical presentations.Own assigned work from conception to production, including monitoring and maintaining them post-deployment.Collaborate with product managers and designers to translate business requirements into technical solutions.Participate in on-call rotations to support our “you build it, you run it” philosophy.Stay current with industry trends and technologies, suggesting improvements to our technology stack when appropriate.Contribute to engineering best practices and help establish technical standards across the organisation.
Who we’re looking for
Hands-on experience and proven track record with some of the following technology:
- GraphQL and RESTful APIs
- Event-driven Architecture (EDA)
- At least one JVM-based languages (Scala, Kotlin, or Java)
- React with TypeScript & CSS
- Database technologies (relational or NoSQL eg. Postgres, DynamoDB, Redis)
- Working with containerisation (Docker)
- AWS technologies and micro-services architecture
- 3+ years of experience in software development, with demonstrable expertise in at least one programming language.
- Monitoring and observability tools like Splunk, New Relic, PagerDuty, Cloudwatch
