Software Development Engineer

Job Description

Responsibilities:

• Participate in a cross-shore development team
• Influence and collaborate to create amazing API’s
• Participate in Agile scrums with cross-functional teams
• Passionate about the latest technologies, open-source projects and languages
• Identify ways to increase efficiency and improve system performance
• Perform other duties and/or special projects as assigned

Qualifications/Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related degree with knowledge of application development using Java with 6 Months to 1 Year of Software Engineering Experience or in lieu of a degree 2 years of relevant experience.
• Critical Thinking, creativity and problem-solving skills
• 6 Months + of applied Java experience
• Hands-on experience in Credit Card Acquisition platform with ample knowledge in credit card application processing and decisioning systems or similar.
• Critical Thinking, creativity and problem-solving skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellence in technical communication with technical and non-technical peers.
• Basic understanding of Artificial Intelligence.

Desired Characteristics:

• Experience in Front End UI development and Backend Java programming.
• Familiarity building and consuming web services via SOAP and REST
• Familiarity with common Java frameworks like Spring and Spring boot
• Familiarity with Jira and Bitbucket and git.
• Familiarity with continuous integration environments
• Familiarity writing unit and integration tests
• Familiarity with JSON, REST and XML based web services
• Strong communication skills with technical and non-technical peers
• Strong cross-functional team player with the ability to work seamlessly across a matrix organization
• Desire to work in a dynamic, fast paced environment
• Strong interpersonal skills with ability to influence clients, team members, management and external groups
• Strong attention to detail in a team environment
• Strong oral and written communication, analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to analyze, use structured problem-solving and available tools to troubleshoot systems, identify root cause, action plans, impact and resolution options
• Knowledge on AI Tools for Developers (Like GitHub Co-pilot, Rovo etc), Development of AI Agents, Understanding of tools, skills and Instruction markdown files etc.
