Job Description
Overview:
We are seeking a Software Developer with proven experience building scalable backend services for real-time data processing. You’ll work on systems that ingest, transform, and serve millions of events per minute. This is not a starter role — we’re looking for someone who has already shipped production systems under tight performance constraints and is eager to push boundaries with modern infrastructure.
Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and maintain distributed services that process high-throughput data streams with sub-second latency.
- Work with Kafka, Apache Flink, or similar tools to implement real-time data pipelines.
- Collaborate with DevOps to tune infrastructure performance (Kubernetes, Prometheus, Terraform).
- Profile and optimize CPU, memory, and I/O in JVM-based services; resolve GC bottlenecks or thread starvation.
- Own technical decisions for services you build; participate in code reviews and architecture discussions.
- Contribute to internal libraries, CI/CD improvements, and performance benchmarks.
Required Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience building JVM-based backend systems (Java, Kotlin, or Scala) in production.
- Demonstrated ability to scale services handling at least 100k events/sec.
- Deep understanding of concurrency models, memory management, and low-latency design patterns.
- Strong knowledge of distributed systems concepts (CAP theorem, backpressure, checkpointing).
- Experience with real-time frameworks like Flink, Spark Streaming, or Akka Streams.
- Proficient with Docker and Kubernetes in production environments.
- Solid grasp of SQL and NoSQL systems (we use ClickHouse, Redis, and Postgres).
- Able to debug from first principles—network traces, heap dumps, CPU profiles.
