The Role

You’ll be responsible for building, maintaining and optimising high-quality websites and digital experiences for a mix of established brands and growth businesses.

This includes:

• Developing custom WordPress websites
• Building bespoke themes and functionality
• Writing clean, maintainable HTML, CSS and JavaScript
• Implementing responsive, performance-optimised builds
• Managing hosting environments and deployments
• Troubleshooting technical issues across projects
• Contributing to technical strategy and recommendations
• Collaborating closely with our design and strategy teams

You won’t be handed messy templates and asked to “make it work”. We design properly. You’ll build properly.

What We’re Looking For

Essential

• 5+ years commercial web development experience
• Strong PHP and custom WordPress development skills
• Advanced HTML, CSS and modern JavaScript
• Experience building custom themes from scratch
• Solid understanding of performance optimisation and SEO fundamentals
• Experience with Git and version control
• Ability to scope technical requirements and estimate projects
• Strong problem-solving ability
• High attention to detail

Desirable

• Experience with headless WordPress or modern JS frameworks
• API integrations
• eCommerce experience
• Hosting/server management knowledge
• Technical leadership experience
