Job Description

We’re looking for a Senior Web Developer who thrives in environments where performance, maintainability, and scalability matter more than trendy tools. You’ll be joining a cross-functional product engineering team that delivers critical features for our enterprise platform, which serves high-volume traffic and complex workflows. This isn’t a pixel-pusher role — we want someone who can architect frontend and backend systems, debug at the network level, and still ship clean, maintainable code under real-world constraints.

What You’ll Do:

  • Lead architectural decisions for core web components that impact customer-facing features and internal tools.
  • Write production-level TypeScript, and maintain a modular codebase using frameworks like Next.js or SvelteKit (we use both).
  • Integrate with APIs that aren’t always well-behaved, and sometimes you’ll need to work around inconsistent third-party data or pagination that breaks.
  • Balance SSR, ISR, and CSR tradeoffs in a mixed-rendering environment — your decisions will directly affect SEO and page performance.
  • Review pull requests with context: not just for syntax but for long-term maintainability and business logic alignment.
  • Coordinate with DevOps to influence CI/CD pipelines — we deploy 20+ times per week across multiple staging environments.
  • Work closely with Product Managers and Designers who actually understand versioning and UX edge cases. Your input on user flows and feasibility will be expected, not optional.
  • Occasionally jump into backend code (Node.js with PostgreSQL) to unblock progress or handle logic where it belongs server-side.

You’ll Succeed Here If You:

  • Understand the difference between “clean code” and “overengineered code” — and avoid both extremes.
  • Know why Lighthouse scores matter, but also when they don’t.
  • Have opinions on state management that aren’t dogmatic (we use Zustand, but it’s not a religion).
  • Can explain why a monorepo works for us — and when it wouldn’t.
  • Debug across the stack, from network throttling in the browser to SQL query optimization.
  • Have led development on large-scale projects where “just ship it” was not an excuse for cutting corners, but rather a mindset for making smart, minimal decisions.

Minimum Requirements:

  • 6+ years in web development, with at least 2 years leading feature or project-level architecture decisions.
  • Proficiency in TypeScript, modern CSS (we use Tailwind), and component-based design systems.
  • Experience with at least one SSR-capable JavaScript framework (Next.js preferred).
  • Strong understanding of web performance metrics and how to impact them meaningfully.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and Git workflows (e.g., GitHub Actions, feature branching, semantic release).
  • Bonus: experience working in a domain where accessibility and security weren’t optional.

Nice-to-Have:

  • Familiarity with GraphQL and RESTful APIs at scale.
  • Experience with PostgreSQL and writing complex queries or views.
  • Prior work in B2B SaaS platforms or multi-tenant applications.
