Senior Software Engineer – Java

Job Description

About the Role :

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer – Java to join our engineering team and build scalable, reliable, and high-performance backend systems.

The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on expertise in Java, backend architecture, APIs, relational databases, performance optimization, and distributed systems. You will independently own technical components, contribute to architecture and design decisions, and work closely with engineering and product teams to deliver high-quality solutions.

Key Responsibilities :

– Follow Agile methodologies and SDLC best practices, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, and build processes.

– Independently design and develop Factories, APIs, and interfaces using Java.

– Build clean, maintainable, scalable, and production-ready backend services.

– Work extensively with ORM frameworks/tools such as Hibernate or Ebean.

– Design and optimize applications using MySQL/PostgreSQL, with a strong understanding of transactions, indexing, and query optimization.

– Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks through performance optimization, concurrency, and multithreading.

– Design solutions with scalability, reliability, maintainability, and operational efficiency in mind.

– Drive test coverage, code quality, and continuous delivery automation within the team.

– Contribute to the development of highly available and scalable distributed systems.

– Collaborate with product managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into robust technical solutions.

– Participate in technical design discussions, code reviews, and architecture decisions.

– Mentor junior engineers and contribute to engineering best practices across the team.

Technical Skills :

Must Have :

– Strong hands-on experience with Java.

– Strong understanding of Object-Oriented Programming and software design principles.

– Experience independently designing and developing APIs, interfaces, and reusable components.

– Strong experience with Hibernate/Ebean or similar ORM tools.

– Good understanding of MySQL/PostgreSQL and relational database concepts.

– Strong understanding of transactions, indexing, and query optimization.

– Experience with performance optimization and multithreading.

– Good understanding of SDLC and Agile methodologies.

– Experience with code reviews, source control, build processes, and coding standards.

– Strong focus on automated testing and code quality.
