Senior PowerBI Developer

Job Description

Key Responsibilities 
As the Senior Power BI Developer, you will:

• Facilitate design thinking and ensure data and information is presented in the most appropriate format, based on client needs.
• Design, develop and test effective dashboards, reports, visualization, widgets and portals which communicate data and insights in an intuitive way.
• Collaborate with technical specialists, service management stakeholders and relevant subject-matter experts to document information requirements.
• Provide plain language advice on technical issues to non-technical audiences.
• Contribute to system, integration, user acceptance and production verification testing.
• Utilise advanced SQL development techniques for database management, integration, query optimisation, and performance tuning.
• Help to establish best practice frameworks and guidelines to support the establishment of reporting business as usual (BAU) capability.
• Implement data quality management techniques to identify and resolve issues, ensuring data integrity and compliance with governance standards.
• Support the business transition into the new data analytics operational patterns (i.e. use of Microsoft Fabric).
• Comply with health and safety policies, procedures, hazard reporting and safe work practices.

What you’ll need to succeed
Experience

• Proven 3+ experience as a report / dashboard developer, preferably using Microsoft Fabric
• Expert knowledge and demonstrated

analytics methods and data modelling
techniques in the application to reporting and analytics processes.

• Demonstrated ability to conceptualise, develop and translate complex business issues into creative analytics products.
• Experience facilitating workshops with senior designers and demonstrate analytics solutions.
• Excellent data literacy skills with demonstrated proficiency in the Power BI Business Intelligence tool.
• Demonstrable understanding of data warehousing best practices, and high availability analytics testing to ensure optimum performance levels.
• Ability to develop guidelines, standards and advise on best practice.

Desirable

• Good understanding of Kimball dimensional data modelling approach.
• High level data literacy skills with demonstrated proficiency in cloud-based business intelligence solutions and an understanding of interactive dashboards in Power BI.
• Training / certification related to Business Intelligence tools such as Power BI.
