Senior Full Stack Engineer

About The Role

As a Senior Full Stack Engineer, you will operate at the intersection of engineering, product, and commercial growth — owning the backend systems that power Bolt Food’s discount and promotion engine. You will help ensure our campaigns are targeted, effective, and continuously improving, working closely with product managers, data teams, restaurants, banks, and other stakeholders across the business.

This is a high-ownership, high-impact role where you will drive features and initiatives end to end, shape technical direction, and help the team build and ship with speed and confidence. You’ll work primarily in Node.js and TypeScript (no prior Node.js experience needed), with some React on the frontend.

Main tasks and responsibilities:

• Designing, building, and maintaining the backend and frontend systems powering Bolt Food’s discount and promotion engine.
• Coding mostly in TypeScript (previous experience with Node.js / React is not required, but always welcomed).
• Paying attention to detail, proactively fixing upcoming bugs, and solving technical challenges.
• Collaborating with product managers to translate business requirements into scalable, reliable solutions.
• Contributing to a strong engineering culture through code reviews, knowledge sharing, and architecture discussions.
• Working cross-functionally with teams across Bolt to deliver complex, high-impact initiatives with clear communication and timelines.
  
  

We are not really looking for Node.js experts, but for cross-language engineers for whom a specific stack is just a tool to solve a problem, not the solution itself.

About you:

• You have 4+ years of software development experience and a university degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related technical field.
• You have solid experience with JavaScript and Node.js, C++, Java, or another object-oriented programming language.
• You have a strong understanding of algorithms, data structures, SQL databases (MySQL/PostgreSQL), and experience designing and developing APIs.
• You have knowledge of modern frontend frameworks and are comfortable working across the full stack when needed.
• You’ve worked in product-focused engineering environments and can independently own projects from concept to delivery with minimal support.
• You have excellent English communication skills and can effectively drive complex cross-team collaboration with clear timelines and structured stakeholder management.
