Job Description
Accountabilities:
The Senior Database Administrator will oversee the design, maintenance, security, and performance of enterprise database platforms. The role requires hands-on expertise in Oracle database administration, proactive problem-solving, and collaboration with cross-functional technology teams.
- Design, install, maintain, and manage production and non-production database environments.
- Provide operational support for critical database systems, including on-call and 24/7 support activities when required.
- Ensure database availability, performance, reliability, and security across enterprise platforms.
- Perform database maintenance, upgrades, patching, backup, recovery, and disaster recovery activities.
- Support Oracle database environments, including Oracle Database 19c and enterprise application databases.
- Monitor database health, identify performance issues, and implement optimization strategies.
- Collaborate with application developers on SQL tuning, stored procedures, and database-related improvements.
- Develop and maintain technical and security standards in collaboration with database and infrastructure teams.
- Support cloud-based database environments deployed through PaaS or IaaS models.
- Manage database refreshes, high availability configurations, replication, and recovery solutions.
- Monitor and troubleshoot application-related database issues across complex enterprise environments.
- Provide technical guidance and recommendations to improve database architecture and operational processes.
Requirements:
The ideal candidate has extensive experience managing enterprise database environments, strong Oracle expertise, and the ability to support complex, high-availability systems.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent professional experience.
- 6+ years of hands-on experience as an Oracle Applications Database Administrator (Oracle Apps DBA).
- Strong expertise in Oracle Database administration, including Oracle Database 19c.
- Experience supporting Oracle EBS environments, including database administration through version 12.2.14.
- Strong knowledge of Oracle EBS administration activities such as concurrent processing, system administration, RAC, OEM, schema statistics, and performance tuning.
- Experience with Oracle Data Guard and disaster recovery concepts.
- Strong database performance tuning and troubleshooting skills.
- Experience managing enterprise RDBMS environments across multiple platforms.
- Knowledge of backup, recovery, storage, and infrastructure architecture concepts.
- Experience managing cloud-based database environments using PaaS or IaaS solutions.
- Proficiency with Linux and Windows environments, including service monitoring and troubleshooting.
- Experience with Unix shell scripting and database automation.
- Familiarity with WebLogic Server, SOA Suite, and enterprise application integrations.
- Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail and service quality.
- Client-focused mindset with strong collaboration and stakeholder management abilities.
