Senior Combat Systems Integration Engineer

Your new role

Reporting to the Project Engineering Manager, you will provide senior level combat systems integration expertise across naval ship platforms. This role is focused on platform integration, technical assurance and engineering delivery, working closely with multidisciplinary teams and Defence stakeholders.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Delivering combat systems integration engineering across naval platforms using robust systems engineering processes
• Providing technical support and integration oversight for:
  • Combat Management Systems and sensors (radars, surveillance systems, tactical data links)
  • Weapons and sensor systems (missile systems, gun systems, fire control, countermeasures)
  • Communications systems (satellite and terrestrial radios, IP networks, intercom and switching systems)
  • Navigation systems (ECDIS, navigation radars, inertial navigation systems)
  • Entertainment and training systems
• Undertaking technical investigations, root cause analysis and solution development
• Managing whole ‑ of ‑ ship and compartment integration , including cabling, HVAC, electrical, weight and platform impacts
• Producing high ‑ quality technical reports and engineering documentation in accordance with customer and regulatory standards
• Planning and coordinating engineering tasks from concept through to delivery
• Leading and participating in design coordination and design review meetings with internal teams and Defence stakeholders
• Providing mentoring and technical guidance to junior engineers as required
• Operating in accordance with WHS, environmental and quality requirements within a regulated defence environment

What you’ll need to succeed

• Strong experience in combat systems integration or related naval systems engineering
• Background working within a technical defence or maritime environment
• Demonstrated understanding of combat systems, communications and sensor technologies
• Experience integrating complex systems into ship platforms
• Ability to read and interpret electrical single line diagrams and cable block diagrams
• Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
• Ability to work autonomously, manage competing priorities and deliver in high ‑ pressure environments
• Eligibility to obtain and maintain NV1 security clearance
