About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Cloud Engineer to lead the design, implementation, and governance of hybrid and Azure-based cloud platforms. This role combines strategic leadership with hands-on engineering, focusing on cloud strategy, DevOps adoption, automation, and modern infrastructure standards. You will work with autonomy, influencing technology roadmaps and ensuring alignment with security, financial, and performance requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and manage scalable, secure, and cost-effective Azure cloud infrastructure.
  • Develop Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) using tools like Terraform, Bicep, ARM.
  • Drive DevOps and CI/CD initiatives with Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, and automation platforms.
  • Implement governance, security, and cost optimisation strategies across multi-subscription environments.
  • Mentor and coach engineering teams, fostering technical excellence and continuous learning.
  • Collaborate with architects, developers, and stakeholders to deliver cloud solutions for infrastructure transformation and application modernisation.
  • Manage vendor relationships and oversee third-party service providers to ensure quality and compliance.

Skills & Experience

  • Postgraduate qualifications or equivalent experience in cloud/infrastructure engineering.
  • Strong expertise in Azure services (AKS, VMs, App Services, Networking, Functions).
  • Proficiency in IaC tools and scripting languages (PowerShell, Bash, Python).
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
  • Solid understanding of cloud governance, security, and operational best practices.
  • Proven ability to lead teams, influence stakeholders, and manage complex projects.
