Senior AWS DevOps Engineer

Your new role

In this role, you’ll be responsible for enhancing and evolving the organisation’s AWS cloud environment. You’ll work across a broad range of AWS services and tools to uplift the cloud platform, improve deployment pipelines, and support teams delivering both internal and customer‑facing applications. You’ll be exposed to best‑practice cloud engineering approaches and will help build secure, highly available, and cost‑efficient cloud services. The position requires strong technical capability, leadership, and the ability to work effectively with stakeholders across engineering, IT, networks, and business teams.

What you’ll need to succeed

• Strong knowledge of AWS technologies and cloud‑native services
• Experience designing AWS solutions across a wide range of services
• Proficiency in at least one programming language (e.g., Java, Python, Ruby, JavaScript, C#, C++), with Python preferred
• Hands‑on experience with Infrastructure‑as‑Code, ideally CloudFormation and CDK
• Understanding of CI/CD principles and experience building pipelines (e.g., CodeBuild, CodeDeploy, CodePipeline)
• Familiarity with cloud security best practices
• Experience working with ITSM/SRM/CMDB tools (e.g., Jira Service Management, BMC Helix)
• Background in agile delivery environments
• Strong communication skills with the ability to influence technical and non‑technical stakeholders
• Ability to work autonomously and contribute to collaborative team environments
• A willingness to learn new technologies and continuously improve processes and tooling
