About The Role

A Senior Android Developer to join the Trideca team. This role will contribute to the ongoing development and enhancement of our apps, collaborating closely with internal and external stakeholders to drive innovation and deliver exceptional user experiences.

Key Responsibilities Include

  • Help build meaningful features that our customers use and depend on for self-service and better health.
  • Writing maintainable, secure, scalable, performant, and well-tested code
  • Provide guidance on the latest mobile technology advances to inform our product designs
  • Contribute to the ongoing technology roadmap to drive out the vision of Medibank digital as a destination platform for members
  • Work with the leads to develop, implement and maintain design patterns that are regularly reviewed and used to support quality acceptance

Essential Requirements (tech & Soft Skills)

You have demonstrated experience in Android application development, we think you will be a great fit if:

  • You have a good domain of Kotlin and Android technology in general.
  • You have handled complex UI using Jetpack compose, networking and threading in your previous projects.
  • You have a good understanding of object-oriented programming, architecture and design patterns such as MVVM.
  • You know how to use tools like Crashlytics or equivalent to understand App issues and solve them.
  • You have previously worked with some of the following: Google Maps, RxJava/RxAndroid, Dagger, Android JetPack libraries such as ViewModel, LiveData, Navigation, Coroutines.
  • You love building complex products that solve real customer problems.
  • You have a strong sense of ownership, you care about what you build, and quality is at your core.
  • You like to keep your house tidy and clean, and you just can’t leave code not covered with a test. Or a feature undelivered. Or dead code in production.
  • You understand when work is better, together. You enjoy collaborating cross-functionally to accomplish shared goals, and you care about learning, growing, and helping others to do the same.
