Job Description
We’re looking for a pragmatic, delivery-obsessed Scrum Master to help our cross-functional teams execute at a high level while maintaining agility and transparency. You won’t just be “protecting the team from interruptions” — we need someone who actively removes blockers, challenges anti-patterns, and coaches both team and stakeholders toward continuous improvement. You’ll work closely with engineers, designers, and product managers to build products used by thousands of enterprise clients in real time.
This role goes beyond ceremony facilitation. You’ll dig into metrics, coach on backlog hygiene, push for sustainable velocity, and make sure our delivery model scales with our product ambitions. If you find velocity charts exciting, know how to deal with “this could have been an email” meetings, and can get leadership to buy into incremental change, let’s talk.
Key Responsibilities
- Facilitate all sprint ceremonies (and eliminate or streamline the ones that waste time).
- Track team health using actionable metrics (not vanity ones) — e.g., predictability, cycle time, story carryover, etc.
- Partner with product managers to ensure backlog items are well-defined and appropriately prioritized.
- Identify delivery risks early and escalate with options — not just problems.
- Proactively remove impediments and anticipate future blockers.
- Coach stakeholders on Agile principles, especially when their requests reflect waterfall thinking.
- Run retros that actually lead to action.
- Guide teams through cross-team dependencies without creating bottlenecks.
- Help refine and scale our delivery processes as the organization grows.
Qualifications
- 4–7 years of experience as a dedicated Scrum Master, ideally in a product-focused tech company.
- Strong understanding of Agile frameworks (Scrum, Kanban, SAFe) and the discernment to know when to bend the rules.
- Proven success improving team delivery metrics over time — show us what you’ve done.
- Hands-on experience with Jira and Confluence beyond the basics (custom workflows, reporting, automation).
- Familiarity with technical concepts — not coding, but enough to understand dependencies and blockers.
- Exceptional facilitation and conflict-resolution skills; people don’t dread your meetings.
- Ability to translate delivery goals to senior leadership in a way that builds trust and gets support.
- Certified Scrum Master (CSM), PMI-ACP, or equivalent preferred — but we care more about your impact than your badges.
