Job Description
We are looking for a Scrum Master who doesn’t just facilitate ceremonies but actively coaches, challenges, and elevates cross-functional teams. In this role, you will serve as the agile driver for 2–3 product teams working on our customer-facing web and mobile platforms. We need someone who understands that team velocity is not the only metric that matters—and can identify systemic blockers across product, engineering, and design. Your focus will be on creating flow, nurturing accountability, and helping teams balance shipping fast with sustainable pace.
You’ll work with Product Owners and Tech Leads who aren’t always aligned—your diplomacy and influence skills must be sharp. We’re a fast-scaling environment with legacy systems in play, so experience navigating partial agility within complex tech stacks is a must.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as Scrum Master for up to 3 product teams, each with varying maturity levels
- Actively coach team members and Product Owners on agile principles beyond textbook Scrum
- Detect and resolve team-level dysfunctions (communication gaps, delivery bottlenecks, unclear ownership)
- Collaborate with engineering leadership and product managers to prioritize throughput vs. scope
- Guide teams through quarterly PI-style planning and help maintain healthy backlogs
- Use metrics like lead time, WIP, and escaped defects to inform—not control—decision-making
- Contribute to the Agile Practice Guild and support experimentation with Kanban and dual-track discovery where needed
Required Qualifications
- 4+ years as a Scrum Master or Agile Coach in a product-led technology environment
- Proven experience with hybrid teams (onshore/offshore) and non-ideal agile conditions (e.g., shared resources, mid-sprint change requests)
- Strong understanding of Agile at Scale (LeSS, SAFe, or Spotify-inspired models)
- Demonstrated ability to coach senior stakeholders and protect teams from scope creep without being dogmatic
- Experience working with tools like Jira, Confluence, Miro, and Azure DevOps (bonus for experience configuring workflows)
- Track record of using data + observation to identify root causes, not just symptoms
- Exceptional facilitation skills—can run retrospectives that don’t feel like rinse-and-repeat exercises
Preferred Qualifications
- Certified Scrum Master (CSM, PSM I or higher); SAFe certification is a plus
- Background in UX or Software Engineering is a strong bonus
- Experience leading agile transformation efforts or agile adoption in regulated industries (e.g., FinTech, HealthTech)
