Safety and Compliance Specialist

Job Description

Responsibilities:

• Compliance Management: Ensure adherence to federal, state, and local trucking and transportation regulations.
• Safety Programs: Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive safety programs and procedures.
• Documentation: Prepare and manage safety-related documentation, including inspections, incident reports, and compliance records.
• Incident Management: Investigate safety incidents and implement corrective actions and preventive measures.
• Parts Management: Enter and manage parts in the maintenance management software, ensuring accurate inventory and availability.
• Work Orders: Enter work orders into the system, assign tasks to in-house or third-party mechanics, and follow up to ensure completion.
• Road Service Calls: Arrange and coordinate on-road service calls as needed to address vehicle issues.
• Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs): Create, review, and update SOPs to ensure they meet industry standards and regulatory requirements.
• Collaboration: Work closely with various departments to integrate safety and compliance practices into daily operations.

Qualifications:

• Experience: Proven experience in safety and compliance within the trucking or transportation industry preferred.
• Knowledge: Strong understanding of trucking regulations and safety standards.
• Skills: Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
• Tech Savvy: Proficient in maintenance management software and other relevant tools.
• Education: Relevant certification or degree in Safety Management, Transportation, or a related field is a plus.
• Remote Work: Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote setting.
