Job Description

Job Description

  • Design, develop, and optimise low-latency, mission-critical trading systems
  • Own key trading stack components end-to-end — from architecture through to production operation
  • Collaborate closely with quants, traders, and engineers to deliver solutions that improve trading performance and resilience
  • Maintain and evolve trading infrastructure with a focus on performance, stability, observability, and operational excellence
  • Troubleshoot complex production issues across exchange connectivity, execution, and market data handling
  • Drive engineering standards through technical leadership, code reviews, and mentoring
  • Embrace agentic engineering principles: leverage AI-assisted workflows, drive automation of operational tasks, and help evolve the team’s agentic tooling
  • Contribute to functional, component, and production-readiness testing for critical trading components

Background and experience

Technical Skills

  • Production-grade Rust experience building high-performance, concurrent systems; proficiency with Tokio is a strong advantage
  • Hands-on experience in a systematic trading environment (HFT, Market Making, Quantitative Trading, or similar), with solid understanding of execution, market data, and operational risk
  • Strong AWS and Linux expertise, including cloud infrastructure trade-offs for latency-sensitive workloads, shell scripting, debugging, and production troubleshooting
  • Proficiency in Python or other scripting languages for strategy development, automation, and operational tooling
  • Deep familiarity with trading system protocols (FIX, REST, WebSocket), exchange connectivity, and market data feeds
  • Solid grasp of low-latency networking: TCP/UDP, packet and latency path analysis, dedicated network infrastructure, and kernel bypass techniques (DPDK)
  • Familiarity with agentic engineering tools and concepts: LLMs, MCP APIs, AI-First IDEs (e.g. Cursor, Claude Code), harness engineering, and workflow automation
  • Ability to make sound architectural decisions, articulate trade-offs clearly, and guide implementation across complex systems

Seniority & Competencies

  • Ownership & Reliability – Take full responsibility for your work. Deliver high-quality service, meet deadlines, and follow through on commitments. Anticipate and proactively address potential issues before they arise.
  • Initiative & Problem-Solving – Approach challenges with a problem-solving entrepreneurial mindset. Make sound, independent judgments and take the initiative to drive solutions rather than waiting for instructions.
  • Operational Diligence – Respond strategically to technical and operational challenges, ensuring robust and reliable trading infrastructure while instilling confidence in the team’s processes.
  • Technical Leadership – Influence system design, raise engineering standards, mentor other engineers, and help the team make pragmatic, high-quality technical decisions.
  • Curiosity & Growth Mindset – Continuously seek to improve your technical skills and knowledge. Stay ahead of industry trends and take the initiative to practice and explore new technologies that excite you.
  • Agentic Engineering – Embrace AI-assisted workflows and autonomous agents, pushing the boundaries of what engineering teams can achieve through intelligent automation.
  • Excellent Communication Skills with a team player mindset, collaborating within a fully remote global team.
