Job Description


We are excited to announce a Product Engineer career opportunity at R8 Technologies.

HVAC Data Understanding & Mapping:

  • Translate mechanical systems operations into data models (e.g., understand AHU/Cooling/Heating/Rooms/BMS behavior).
  • Define KPIs and metrics relevant to system efficiency, comfort, and sustainability.
  • Collaborate with software engineers and project engineers to validate data logic and quality of the building integrations.

Data Visualization & Reporting

  • Build and maintain analytical reporting and dashboards for:
    • System performance monitoring.
    • Energy consumption analytics.
    • Fault detection and diagnostics.
    • Comfort and indoor climate performance.
  • Create views tailored for different stakeholders (e.g., internal analysts, building owners, FM teams).

Data Science & Analytics Support

  • Preprocess, clean, and structure buildings HVAC and energy data for analysis.
  • Develop models for expected HVAC behavior (Different components and component groups e.g fans, pumps, chillers).
  • Work with R8 Product team to develop algorithms that:
    • identify anomalies and inefficiencies.
    • optimization models.
    • impact analysis.
  • Contribute to feature engineering from time-series data (e.g., occupancy trends, weather patterns).

Feedback Loop into Product

  • Integrate insights from Customers and Projects Engineers into the R8 Digital Operator’s logic.
  • Suggest improvements to how R8’s platform handles different HVAC configurations.

Documentation & QA

  • Document dashboard structures and data pipelines.
  • Perform QA on data consistency, correctness, and model outputs.
  • Track changes in HVAC configuration across projects and update data models accordingly.

Cross-functional Collaboration

Work Closely With:

  • Software Engineers (for integrating views with backend).
  • Product Engineers and Data Scientists (for analytics, model inputs/outputs).
  • Product Managers (for UX and feature design).
  • Customer Operations Teams (for training and troubleshooting).
