Operations Manager Waste Management

About the Role

Reporting into senior management, you will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations, coordinating staff and vehicles, maintaining high safety standards, improving efficiencies and ensuring exceptional customer service delivery.

This role is suited to someone who enjoys balancing leadership, planning, problem solving and being actively involved in operations.Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate drivers, warehouse staff and daily operational schedules
• Allocate vehicles, runs and workloads efficiently
• Lead, mentor and support operational teams
• Conduct toolbox meetings and drive workplace safety initiatives
• Manage fleet maintenance, servicing schedules and vehicle tracking systems
• Oversee depot operations, stock levels and equipment maintenance
• Maintain compliance with workplace policies and legislative requirements
• Build and maintain strong client relationships
• Assist with identifying growth opportunities and improving operational efficiencies
• Respond proactively to staffing, scheduling and operational challenges
• Participate in operational duties when required

To Be Successful You Will Have

• Demonstrated experience in operations management, logistics, transport or similar industries
• Strong people leadership and staff management capability
• Experience coordinating fleets, scheduling or service delivery teams
• Excellent organisational skills and ability to prioritise competing demands
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• Safety-focused mindset with commitment to compliance and continuous improvement
• Current MR Licence (or willingness to obtain if applicable)
