Your new role

As a Network Designer, you will be responsible for the design, implementation, and support of modern network solutions across enterprise environments. You will work across on‑premises and cloud platforms, ensuring network performance, resilience, and security during a significant period of transformation.

Key accountabilities include:

  • Design & Implementation: Design and deploy new network solutions including LAN, WAN, wireless, cloud networking, firewalls, and related technologies, as well as integrating new technologies into existing environments.
  • Configuration & Maintenance: Configure, manage, and maintain network hardware such as routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, and VPNs.
  • Performance Monitoring: Monitor network health, identify performance bottlenecks, and troubleshoot issues to ensure optimal speed, availability, and uptime.
  • Security: Implement and manage network security controls, including firewalls and access controls, to protect against internal and external threats.
  • Troubleshooting & High‑Level Support: Diagnose complex network and performance issues, conduct root cause analysis, and provide advanced technical support.
  • End‑User Support: Provide technical assistance for network-related issues as required.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date documentation of network configurations, architecture, and procedures.
  • Upgrades & Maintenance: Plan and execute scheduled upgrades, patches, and maintenance activities.

What you’ll need to succeed

To succeed in this role, you will bring strong enterprise network design experience and the ability to operate in complex, evolving environments.

Key skills and experience include:

  • Technical expertise: Strong knowledge of networking protocols such as BGP, OSPF, and EIGRP, along with LAN/WAN technologies and VLANs.
  • Cloud & modern networking: Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS and Azure, and modern networking concepts including SD‑WAN.
  • Relevant experience: Demonstrated experience in network engineering, network design, or network architecture roles.
  • Certifications: Industry certifications such as CCNP, CCDP, CCIE, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Analytical & problem-solvers skills: Proven ability to analyse complex environments, troubleshoot network and firewall issues, and deliver effective solutions.
