Network Architect

Job Description

Job Summary:

The Network Architect is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining scalable and secure network solutions that align with the organization’s strategic objectives. This role requires a deep understanding of network technologies, architecture frameworks, and industry best practices to ensure high availability, performance, and security of enterprise networks.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and implement enterprise network architectures (LAN, WAN, data center, cloud, and hybrid networks).
• Evaluate and recommend new network technologies, protocols, and products to meet business needs.
• Develop network standards, policies, and procedures to ensure security, reliability, and scalability.
• Collaborate with IT teams, vendors, and stakeholders to plan and execute network upgrades, migrations, and expansions.
• Conduct network capacity planning, performance monitoring, and optimization.
• Troubleshoot complex network issues and provide guidance on resolution.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
• Prepare network documentation, diagrams, and reports for management and audit purposes.
• Provide technical leadership and mentoring to network engineers and IT staff.
• Participate in disaster recovery planning and implement network redundancy and failover strategies.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field; Master’s preferred.
• Extensive experience (typically 8+ years) in enterprise network design and implementation.
• Strong knowledge of network protocols (TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, MPLS, VPN, SD-WAN).
• Experience with cloud networking (AWS, Azure, GCP) and hybrid infrastructures.
• Familiarity with firewalls, load balancers, switches, routers, and wireless technologies.
• Expertise in network security best practices and technologies.
• Relevant certifications preferred (e.g., CCNP/CCIE, JNCIE, AWS/Azure Networking).
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
