Job Description

About the Role:

We’re looking for a hands-on Network Administrator who understands that uptime is everything and that troubleshooting begins with asking the right questions. You’ll work with a hybrid environment that includes Cisco Meraki, Fortinet firewalls, on-prem VMware clusters, and AWS VPCs. This isn’t a “monitor-and-escalate” job — you’ll be the one resolving the issues, not just ticketing them.

What You’ll Do:

  • Maintain and optimize multi-site networks with VLAN segmentation, VPN tunnels (site-to-site and client-based), and redundant failover systems.
  • Administer and configure FortiGate firewalls, including policy rules, NAT, IDS/IPS, and SSL inspection without tanking performance.
  • Manage Cisco Meraki infrastructure (firewalls, switches, access points) across several branch offices, handling traffic shaping, QoS, and content filtering.
  • Oversee Active Directory Sites and Services and ensure replication traffic doesn’t flood the WAN links.
  • Configure and monitor AWS VPCs, security groups, and site-to-cloud IPsec tunnels, ensuring integration between on-prem and cloud networks.
  • Conduct network capacity planning and provide recommendations for hardware/software upgrades based on real-world metrics — not vendor fluff.
  • Create and maintain detailed documentation (Visio network diagrams, IP schemas, firewall rulesets).
  • Lead root cause analysis (RCA) for network outages — we’re not interested in band-aids.
  • Participate in on-call rotation for network-related escalations (approx. once every 5 weeks).

What You Need:

  • 3–5 years of professional experience managing enterprise-level networks.
  • Hands-on experience with Fortinet firewalls (FortiOS CLI and GUI) and familiarity with dynamic routing protocols (OSPF/BGP).
  • Proven ability to design and troubleshoot VLANs, inter-VLAN routing, and Layer 2/3 issues without relying solely on GUI tools.
  • Solid grasp of network security best practices, including segmentation, zero-trust design, and log analysis.
  • Strong familiarity with wireless network design and troubleshooting, including spectrum analysis and rogue AP detection.
  • Experience supporting hybrid cloud environments, specifically AWS networking services.
  • Comfortable using packet analyzers (e.g., Wireshark) and interpreting traces to isolate problems.
  • Capable of working independently, communicating clearly with both technical and non-technical teams, and prioritizing tasks in real time.
