Role & responsibilities

• Assist multi-site project team members to support the implementation of IT / Engineering led global improvement projects.
• Liaise with the EMEA engineering team & external third-party approval bodies to maintain product type certifications. i.e., CE, CRN, TR-CU, ATEX etc.
• Provide technical support to the global engineering teams in the generation & selection of BOMs for customer specific orders.
• Migrate & maintain tooling related files within the Autodesk Vault database.
• Provide FEA stress analysis support of existing or modified products for design & loading optimisation. .
• Generate product costings of live quote enquiries for Senior Management cost analysis review. Support the engineering team members to automate & drive efficiencies within the costing process.
• Work with the global engineering teams in providing detailed tool designs of product components, to include full generation of 3d models and 2d drawings for direct tooling manufacture.
• Execute various improvement & product related projects & tasks as assigned by the Engineering Manager.

Preferred candidate profile

Essential Requirements.

• 4+ Years’ core experience in a professional engineering environment.
• Honours Degree in Mechanical Engineering / Tooling Design Engineering / or equivalent essential.
• Excellent fluent English, written and spoken essential.
• High level of computer literacy essential.
• Proficiency in parametric 3D Modelling (Autodesk Inventor, SolidWorks, Pro-E or equivalent) essential.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD (2D) or SolidWorks DraftSight or equivalent essential.
• Good analytical, technical skills, design skills & creativity in providing optimised solutions essential.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel essential.
• Experience with FEA using ANSYS or Nastran would be advantageous and desirable.
• Experience with Autodesk Vault would be advantageous.
• Familiarity with GD&T advantageous.
• Ability to be on call up to 4pm GMT.
• Ability to travel to Ireland or the USA if training or project requirements arise.
• Proven track record in successfully supporting a dynamic engineering function.
• Self-starter with the ability to work on own initiative.
