Role Purpose
The Online Marketing Strategist will help strengthen DDEC’s digital presence and engagement. This volunteer role focuses on refining our online strategy, improving campaign reach, and supporting our mission to grow a vibrant supporter base through effective use of social media, web, and email channels.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and refine DDEC’s online marketing strategy to support campaigns and fundraising.
Design content and edit videos.
Identify opportunities to increase visibility, reach, and supporter engagement across digital platforms.
Analyse online metrics and recommend improvements.
Assist with targeted online advertising (e.g., Facebook Ads, Google Ads).
Collaborate with media volunteers to align messaging across online and offline communications.
Support development of email marketing flows and supporter journeys.
Provide guidance on website content structure, SEO, and user engagement.
Skills & Experience
Essential:
Experience in digital marketing, social media strategy, or related field.
Strong understanding of online engagement tools (social media, email marketing, analytics).
Ability to translate campaign goals into effective digital content strategies.
Strong written and communication skills.
Comfortable working independently and collaboratively in an online team.
Desirable:
Knowledge of environmental issues and community campaigning.
Familiarity with tools such as Mailchimp, WordPress, Canva, and Meta Business Suite.
Experience with small budgets for paid advertising campaigns.
