Role Overview
- We are seeking a results-driven and technically strong Manager – Sales & Marketing with extensive
- experience in Instrumentation and Calibration solutions. The role focuses on driving business growth in
- Malaysia through strategic business development, key account management, and solution-oriented selling
- of instrumentation products and calibration services.
- The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of industrial instrumentation, measurement
- systems, sensors, analysers, calibration standards, and QA/QC requirements, combined with sound
- commercial and leadership capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
Business Development & Sales
- Identify, develop, and manage new business opportunities in Instrumentation, Calibration, Process Control, Manufacturing, Oil & Gas, Power, Pharmaceuticals, Electronics, Automotive, and Heavy Engineering sectors.
- Own the complete sales lifecycle including lead generation, prospecting, technical discussions, proposal preparation, commercial negotiations, independent deal closure within approved commercial and compliance guidelines, and post-order follow-up.
- Achieve and exceed regional sales targets, revenue growth, and profitability objectives for Malaysia.
- Develop and execute territory plans, sales strategies, and account growth plans aligned with organizational objectives.
Market Intelligence & Strategy
- Monitor market trends, industry standards, customer expectations, and competitor activities in the instrumentation and calibration space.
- Provide timely market intelligence, sales forecasts, and strategic inputs to senior management.
- Identify opportunities for new instrumentation offerings, service expansion, and cross-selling / up-selling.
- Support and participate in marketing initiatives, including trade exhibitions, technical seminars, calibration awareness programs, roadshows, and customer workshops.
- Collaborate with marketing teams on product positioning, value propositions, and go-to-market strategies.
- Represent the organization at industry events and customer forums.
Leadership & Business Management
- Independently manage regional sales operations with accountability for planning, forecasting, and budgeting.
- Guide and mentor junior sales or application team members, where applicable.
- Ensure adherence to company policies, commercial guidelines, and ethical business practices.
Qualifications & Skills
- Education
- Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Engineering (Instrumentation, Electronics, Electrical, Control Systems, Industrial, Mechanical, or related disciplines).
- Experience
- 10–15 years of proven experience in technical / industrial sales, preferably in:
- Instrumentation Products & Systems
- Calibration Services (Electrical, Mechanical, Thermal, Pressure, etc.)
- Process Control & Measurement Solutions
- Industrial QA/QC and Compliance-driven services
- Strong exposure to instrumentation applications, calibration, ISO standards , and plant-level measurement requirements.
- Demonstrated success in business development, key account management, and regional sales growth. Technical & Business Skills
- Strong technical aptitude to understand and articulate instrumentation specifications, calibration scope, and compliance requirements.
- Proven ability to negotiate and close deals independently within defined company policies, pricing structures, approval matrices, and commercial guidelines.
- Solid understanding of commercial negotiations, pricing strategies, contracts, and profitability management.
- Ability to analyze sales pipelines, market opportunities, and business performance metrics.
