Job Description

Job Summary:

We are seeking a Magento Developer with hands-on experience in building and customizing complex Magento 2 (Adobe Commerce) solutions. This role demands deep technical knowledge of the Magento framework, including module development, performance optimization, API integration, and multi-store setups. You will work alongside front-end developers, UX designers, and QA analysts to deliver scalable e-commerce platforms tailored to specific business needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Architect and develop custom Magento 2 modules and themes adhering to best practices and Magento coding standards.
  • Integrate third-party APIs (payment gateways, shipping providers, ERP/CRM systems).
  • Optimize Magento installations for performance, scalability, and high availability.
  • Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for Magento environments.
  • Conduct code reviews and ensure adherence to version control and deployment procedures.
  • Implement caching strategies using Varnish, Redis, or similar technologies.
  • Debug and resolve Magento-specific issues, including database performance and extension conflicts.
  • Collaborate with DevOps for environment management (Docker, Kubernetes, or cloud infrastructure).
  • Support migrations from Magento 1 or other platforms to Magento 2.
  • Maintain security patches and updates in alignment with Adobe Commerce release cycles.

Required Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of hands-on Magento 2 development experience, including custom module creation.
  • Proficiency in PHP 7+/8+, MySQL, JavaScript, KnockoutJS, RequireJS, HTML5, CSS3, and LESS/SASS.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Magento’s EAV model, service contracts, and dependency injection.
  • Experience with Magento API (REST and GraphQL) development and consumption.
  • Strong command over Magento CLI, composer, and setup:di compile workflows.
  • Experience with multi-language, multi-currency Magento setups.
  • Familiarity with ElasticSearch, Varnish, Redis, and Magento indexing strategies.
  • Knowledge of Magento PWA Studio or Hyvä Themes is a plus.
  • Experience in unit testing using PHPUnit or similar tools.
  • Comfortable with Git-based workflows, Jira or other ticketing systems.
  • Ability to write technical documentation and deployment notes.
  • Adobe Certified Magento Developer (Optional but strongly preferred).

Preferred Skills:

  • Understanding of headless commerce architecture.
  • Knowledge of Adobe Commerce features (B2B suite, Page Builder, Live Search).
  • Experience with AWS, Azure, or other cloud platforms.
  • Working knowledge of containerization (Docker) and deployment automation tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD).
