Lead Full Stack Developer – PHP/Node.js

Key Responsibilities :

– Full Stack Development : Design, develop, and maintain high-performance, scalable web applications using PHP and Node.js for the backend and React/Vue for the frontend, supporting B2B, B2C, and external API integrations.

– Microservices Architecture : Build and evolve gRPC-based microservices using Node.js and PHP to replace legacy monolithic components, ensuring zero-downtime migration and backward compatibility with existing B2B partners.

– Database Management : Optimize and manage databases (MySQL and MongoDB) to ensure data integrity, efficient query performance, and seamless handling of high-volume travel booking transactions.

– Front-end Development : Build responsive, accessible UIs using CSS frameworks (Bootstrap/Tailwind), React, and Vue, delivering seamless booking experiences across devices.

– Cloud Integration : Architect and deploy applications using AWS services (ECS/EKS, EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, API Gateway) to build resilient, auto-scaling cloud-native solutions.

– API Design & Integration : Design and maintain RESTful and gRPC APIs for GDS/NDC integrations, third-party supplier connectivity, and internal platform communication.

– Performance Optimization : Profile and optimize application performance, targeting cost reduction of 3040% through efficient resource utilization and architectural improvements.

– Leadership & Mentoring : Guide and mentor junior and mid-level developers, conduct code reviews, promote engineering best practices, and drive adoption of modern development standards.

– Collaboration : Work closely with product, design, QA, and DevOps teams to deliver end-to-end solutions that meet business requirements within Agile sprint cycles.

Required Qualifications :

– Experience : 7+ years in full stack development with a strong focus on PHP, Node.js, MySQL, MongoDB, React, and/or Vue.

– Backend Expertise : Deep proficiency in PHP and Node.js (Express/NestJS) with experience building scalable APIs, background job processing, and integration with third-party services.

– Front-end Skills : Proficient in modern JavaScript (ES6+), CSS frameworks (Bootstrap, Tailwind), responsive design, and component-based architecture with React or Vue.

– Database Skills : Strong command of MySQL (query optimization, indexing, replication) and MongoDB (aggregation pipelines, schema design).

– Cloud Skills : Hands-on experience with AWS services including ECS/EKS (Kubernetes), EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, and CloudFront.

– Microservices : Experience designing and implementing gRPC or REST-based microservices architectures using Node.js or PHP with service discovery, load balancing, and fault tolerance.

– Leadership : Proven experience leading development projects, mentoring team members, and driving architectural decisions.

– Problem Solving : Excellent troubleshooting and debugging skills with the ability to quickly diagnose and resolve complex technical challenges in production environments.

– Communication : Strong interpersonal and communication skills, comfortable presenting technical solutions to cross-functional teams and senior leadership.

Preferred Qualifications :

– Travel Domain : Prior experience in travel or hospitality technology, including GDS/NDC integrations, booking engines, or supplier connectivity platforms.

– AI-Assisted Development : Experience with vibe coding and AI-powered development tools such as Claude, GitHub Copilot, Cursor, or equivalent to accelerate development velocity.

– DevOps : Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps, Jenkins, GitHub Actions), Docker containerization, and deployment automation.

– Security Practices : Knowledge of secure coding practices, PCI-DSS compliance requirements, data encryption, and OWASP security standards.

– Agile : Experience working in Agile/Scrum or Kanban environments with tools like Jira or Azure Boards.

– Observability : Experience with monitoring and observability tools (New Relic, CloudWatch, Grafana) for proactive performance management.

– Certifications : AWS Solutions Architect or Developer certification is a plus.
