L2/L3 Network Security Engineer 

Job Description

Key Responsibilities :

Network Security Operations :

– Deploy, configure, and manage network security solutions including firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, and web security solutions.

– Support and troubleshoot enterprise network security environments involving routing, switching, and SD-WAN technologies.

– Perform configuration, monitoring, and troubleshooting of security appliances such as FortiGate, FortiManager, and FortiAnalyzer.

– Assist in the design and implementation of secure network architectures for enterprise environments.

Implementation & Support :

– Participate in deployment and migration projects involving firewall upgrades, SD-WAN deployments, and security infrastructure changes.

– Configure and troubleshoot network connectivity across LAN, WAN, and Internet environments.

– Provide L2/L3 technical support for security incidents, performance issues, and configuration changes.

– Perform system testing, validation, and documentation during implementation activities.

Customer & Project Collaboration :

– Work closely with customers and internal teams during deployment, configuration, and troubleshooting phases.

– Collaborate with the PMO team to ensure successful delivery of implementation projects.

– Provide knowledge transfer and technical guidance to customers and internal stakeholders.

– Maintain accurate documentation, technical reports, and implementation records.

Continuous Improvement :

– Stay updated with the latest network security technologies and best practices.

– Analyze security incidents and recommend improvements to network security posture.

– Contribute to process improvements and operational efficiency within the security operations team.

Qualifications :

Must-Have :

– 8 to 10 years of experience in network security implementation, consulting, or support roles.

– Strong experience with firewall technologies, VPN, IDS/IPS, and network security solutions.

– Hands-on experience with Fortinet products including FortiGate, FortiManager, and FortiAnalyzer.

– Experience with SD-WAN deployment and troubleshooting.

– Strong understanding of routing and switching concepts.

– In-depth knowledge of TCP/IP, Layer 2 and Layer 3 networking.

– Experience supporting enterprise LAN/WAN/Internet environments.

– Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.

– Excellent communication and documentation skills.

– FCP certification or equivalent network security certification.
