About The Role

As a Junior Software Engineer at Sportsbet, you’ll play a key role in building and enhancing the digital products that power our customer experience. Working within our Technology team, you’ll contribute to solution design, systems analysis, and engineering excellence while collaborating with a wide range of technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities include:

  • Adopt an AI-first engineering mindset, applying AI tools to enhance productivity, code quality, and customer value.
  • Engage technical stakeholders across Sportsbet regarding achievable outcomes to enhance potential of business performance through technology.
  • Engage stakeholders in the use of, and value in, technical standards and methods.
  • Contribute to detailed technical designs across domains, aligned with Solution Architectures, Domain and PBS best practice.
  • Support end to end systems analysis by surfacing cross domain constraints, challenges and opportunities.

Along with a great attitude, it would be ideal that you have:

  • Experience with Java and Spring Framework.
  • Exposure to deploying and maintaining applications on AWS.
  • Familiarity with Kafka and event-driven architectures (desirable).
  • An understanding of the full SDLC, including high-level estimation and business case development.
  • Experience with abstract, logical, physical, and data modelling concepts.
