Junior Software Developer

Job Description

 Working as a junior full stack software developer you will have exposure to a wide range of projects from front-end web apps to back-end API’s, database interfaces and dev-op deployment.

You will have the chance to apply your technical skills in a flexible and innovative environment where you can draw on your creativity and technical prowess to solve challenging, commercial problems. You will:

• Support the design and build of a range of our software products, as per our technology strategy
• Work on Typescript/JavaScript and some C# .NET Core full stack products
• Work flexibly to deliver innovative solutions on diverse technology challenges
• Work on a wide variety of technology products and projects
• Work collaboratively with our engineering and product teams on varying technology solutions
• Develop and maintains strong relationships with internal stakeholders

About you:

• A tertiary qualification in Computer Science or Software Engineering
• 1 year+ experience in a software development role – we are also open to strong graduate applicants
• Some understanding of a range of Full-Stack technologies
  • JavaScript / TypeScript / Angular (or relevant React / Vue experience)
  • NodeJS
  • SQL (Postgres, MSSQL)
  • Git
  • C# .NET (Core) – Advantageous
• Some understanding of Linux and familiarity with a shell scripting language – e.g. bash
• A basic understanding of container / automation technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes and Ansible (desired)
• Basic understanding of one or more agile methodologies
• Exposure to Cloud SDKs – i.e. Azure (preferred) or AWS
• Exposure to projects / products using data science languages & tools such as R & Python (desired)
• Ability to work in teams, including those across multiple locations
• Sound interpersonal skills
• Sound communication skills
• A passion for development
