Key Responsibilities

As a Junior Full Stack Developer, you will contribute to the development of a smart coaching platform that combines cloud infrastructure, backend services, AI models, and frontend interfaces. You will work closely with senior developers and AI specialists to bring this product to life, taking ownership of technical tasks and learning on the job.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting with the setup and configuration of Google Cloud Platform services, including Vertex AI, Cloud Storage, and BigQuery
  • Supporting the development of data ingestion pipelines and user interfaces to process multiple file formats
  • Designing and managing backend services using FastAPI, with a focus on performance, scalability, and security
  • Implementing user authentication and access control systems
  • Developing and maintaining frontend features using React and TypeScript, ensuring a responsive and intuitive user experience
  • Collaborating on the integration of AI/ML models and vector search to support real-time coaching recommendations
  • Writing, parsing, and managing structured data using JSON across APIs and internal data flows
  • Contributing to the development of real-time collaboration features and analytics dashboards
  • Participating in testing, debugging, optimisation, and documentation across the full stack
  • Supporting production deployment activities and contributing to internal training materials.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Demonstrated knowledge of web development using Python and JavaScript/TypeScript
  • Familiarity with FastAPI, React, RESTful APIs, and frontend/backend integration
  • Understanding of JSON for data parsing, storage, and API integration
  • Awareness of Google Cloud services (Vertex AI, BigQuery, Cloud Storage)
  • Exposure to machine learning concepts (especially RAG, embeddings, model fine-tuning)
  • Experience designing or using databases with structured schemas
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and comfortable working independently in a remote-first team
  • Ability to prioritise and manage tasks in a part-time environment (3–4 hours per day)

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, or equivalent
  • Currently undertaking postgraduate studies 
  • Australian Citizenship (essential for data governance and security)
  • Portfolio or GitHub projects demonstrating relevant skills (desirable)
