Job Description

Responsibilities

What You Will Do

– Develop a good understanding of Oracle Retail Cloud MFCS, its APIs, integration points, and the upstream and downstream services that interact with it.

– Monitor, troubleshoot, and support integrations with Oracle Retail Cloud MFCS and related backend services.

– Analyze application logs, database queries, API responses, Kafka events, and other system information to identify and resolve production issues.

– Troubleshoot issues across multiple services and identify whether the problem originates within the application, the database, the integration layer, or an external downstream system.

– Participate in production incident resolution, perform root cause analysis, and implement permanent fixes to prevent recurring issues.

– Maintain and enhance existing Java and Spring Boot applications, including bug fixes, minor enhancements, and performance improvements.

– Develop and maintain unit and integration tests and contribute to testing strategies that help identify issues before they reach production.

– Follow and contribute to coding standards, code review practices, monitoring, documentation, and other engineering best practices.

– Work closely with L3 and Lead engineers and other teams when issues require deeper technical investigation or architectural changes.

– Participate in on-call support and ensure production issues are communicated, tracked and escalated appropriately.

What You Will Bring

– 4 to 6 years of experience in Java backend development and production support.

– Strong hands-on experience with Java and Spring Boot.

– Strong hands-on production experience with Kafka, including real-time streaming and event-driven flows.

– Good understanding of REST APIs, service-to-service communication, and distributed backend systems.

– Strong SQL and relational database knowledge.

– Experience debugging and resolving production issues in backend applications.

– Good understanding of application logs, monitoring, debugging, and root cause analysis.

– Good understanding of integration patterns and troubleshooting issues across multiple services.

– Good understanding of unit testing and integration testing practices.

– Ability to work independently on L2 issues while knowing when and how to escalate complex issues.

– Willingness to participate in a shared on-call rotation.

– Understanding of cloud platforms and DevOps practices is good to have
