Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide first-line IT support to staff and students, responding to and resolving technical issues in a timely manner.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot school hardware, including computers, printers, screens, televisions and projectors.
  • Set up and configure new hardware and software for staff and students as required within the context of a new school campus.
  • Monitor and maintain the school’s IT inventory, ensuring stock levels of equipment remain at adequate levels.
  • Provide training and guidance to staff and students on how to use school IT systems effectively.
  • Manage the needs of the photocopier within the 441 Murray Street Campus.
  • Monitor the cameras installed at Murray Street.
  • Support a range of IT-related projects, such as system upgrades or software deployment as required by the IT Manager.

About You:

  • Proven experience in IT support or a similar role, ideally within an educational based setting is desirable but not essential.
  • Strong knowledge of computer hardware and software across both Windows and Mac OS operating systems.
  • Ability to troubleshoot technical issues effectively and efficiently.
  • Keen attention to detail, positive work ethic and a friendly, kind, calm and caring demeanour.
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work well with both technical and non-technical staff.
  • A proactive attitude with excellent problem-solving skills and the willingness to work flexible hours as required by the School.
  • Demonstrated empathy and understanding of the needs of our students across Years 7 – 12.
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills with the ability to quickly build a professional rapport with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to work both autonomously and as part of our collegial Support Staff Team.
  • A basic understanding of data protection and safeguarding as it pertains to a school-based environment.
  • Relevant IT qualifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Certificate IV in Information Technology or a related field, Bachelor of Computer Science) are desirable but not essential.
  • Experience with cloud-based solutions and educational software is desirable.
