Job Description

We’re seeking a highly skilled IT Specialist who thrives in hybrid environments and can bridge legacy systems with modern, cloud-based infrastructure. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on problem solving, tight-knit collaboration across departments, and isn’t afraid to deep-dive into server logs, network diagrams, and vendor APIs all in the same afternoon. You’ll be the connective tissue between our users, internal systems, and external platforms, ensuring technical continuity while improving system efficiency and user experience.

You won’t just maintain systems—you’ll be empowered to improve them. From optimizing our MDM deployment to supporting zero-trust architecture initiatives, your contributions will directly impact operational agility and security posture.


Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain, troubleshoot, and enhance our hybrid IT environment, which includes on-prem Windows Server 2019 systems, VMware ESXi virtualization, and Azure-based services.
  • Administer core infrastructure services (DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, AD FS) and ensure directory hygiene across environments.
  • Configure and support network components including Cisco Meraki firewalls, switches, and wireless access points.
  • Manage and monitor endpoint devices via Microsoft Intune and JAMF, including application deployment, compliance policies, and patching workflows.
  • Provide Level 2/3 technical support for escalated issues across helpdesk, infrastructure, and SaaS systems.
  • Coordinate hardware lifecycle management, including procurement, imaging, and secure decommissioning.
  • Act as technical liaison during vendor onboarding and integrations—evaluate APIs, verify security compliance, and ensure compatibility with internal systems.
  • Participate in disaster recovery planning and maintain documented procedures for system failover and recovery.
  • Identify automation opportunities using PowerShell or Python to reduce manual workload and improve service delivery.
  • Assist in enforcing information security policies and contribute to regular audits and vulnerability assessments.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field OR equivalent hands-on experience.
  • 4+ years of professional experience in IT support and systems administration, ideally in a mid-size company (100–1000 users).
  • Strong proficiency with Windows Server, Active Directory, and Microsoft 365 administration.
  • Practical experience with cloud environments (Azure or AWS), particularly around identity management and service integration.
  • Familiarity with endpoint management platforms (e.g., Intune, JAMF, SCCM).
  • Networking fundamentals (VLANs, VPNs, firewalls, DNS) and hands-on experience with Cisco or Meraki equipment.
  • Proven troubleshooting ability across hardware, OS, and enterprise applications.
  • Excellent written documentation skills—can write procedures another team member could follow without needing clarification.

Preferred:

  • Certifications such as CompTIA Security+, Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate, or Cisco CCNA.
  • Scripting knowledge (PowerShell preferred) for automating tasks and reporting.
  • Experience supporting hybrid work environments, including remote user support, VPN troubleshooting, and secure mobile access.
