Job Description

We’re looking for an Interactive Designer who can bridge the gap between visual storytelling and user behavior. You’ll design digital experiences that aren’t just beautiful—they respond, adapt, and guide. If you thrive on crafting interfaces that animate with purpose, react to user input, and stay grounded in real-world behavior (not just trendy motion for the sake of it), you’ll feel right at home here.

This role requires someone who is fluent in the language of motion design, has strong opinions about microinteractions, and can defend those opinions with user-centric reasoning. You’ll collaborate with engineers, content strategists, and product leads to ensure every screen tells a story—and every tap, swipe, or click feels intentional.

What You’ll Do

  • Design interactive experiences that include motion systems, transitions, hover states, and data-driven behaviors.
  • Build and present high-fidelity prototypes using tools like Figma, Framer, or ProtoPie to demonstrate nuanced interactions.
  • Work alongside front-end developers to ensure interactions are implemented precisely and efficiently.
  • Develop and document interaction libraries and motion guidelines to ensure consistency across the product suite.
  • Participate in design critiques and communicate design rationale rooted in user psychology and usability research.
  • Adapt and scale designs across multiple platforms (web, mobile, responsive frameworks).
  • Help define success metrics for interaction quality—load time, feedback timing, and gesture recognition.

Qualifications

Must-Haves:

  • 4+ years of experience in product design with a strong emphasis on interactive and motion design.
  • A portfolio that includes interactive prototypes—not just static screens. Must show real use of microinteractions, transitions, and user-driven motion.
  • Deep expertise in tools like Figma (advanced prototyping), After Effects, Framer, or Principle.
  • Strong grasp of front-end mechanics (you don’t have to code, but you should know what’s possible in HTML/CSS/JS or native platforms).
  • Ability to balance delightful experiences with practical performance constraints.
  • Clear communication skills: you can explain why that 0.2s delay matters.
  • Familiarity with accessibility best practices, especially as it relates to motion sensitivity and interaction timing.

Nice-to-Have:

  • Experience designing for systems with complex interactions (e.g., dashboards, financial tools, mapping interfaces).
  • Comfort with 3D prototyping tools or WebGL concepts.
  • Familiarity with version control tools like GitHub or design token systems.
