About The Role

In this role, you will support the development of applications and integrations for projects and programs across the Division, undertaking technical design and development of business systems in line with application standards such as .NET and SQL.

Essential Skills and Experience

  • Proven ability to develop multi-layered applications using C# .NET (Framework and 8+), including web applications, with strong expertise in SQL Server, SQL and data modelling concepts.
  • Experience integrating systems via Web Services, mainframe connections, and message queues such as IBM MQ.
  • Skilled in using .NET MVC and WebAPI frameworks for application development.
  • Proficient with modern version control tools like Git and Bitbucket, and experienced in writing unit tests, managing solution governance, and issue tracking with tools such as Jira.
  • Collaborative experience working alongside business analysts during requirements gathering.
  • Competent in building web applications using modern JavaScript frameworks and client-side libraries like Knockout or Angular.
  • Background in technical architecture design, application development, and programming to create well-structured solutions.
  • Tertiary qualifications in information technology, computer science, or software engineering.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to work effectively within project teams, delivering quality solutions within agreed deadlines.

Desirable Skills and Experience

  • Prior work on government business systems
  • Experience with Microsoft Fabric integration
  • Skills in Desktop UI development (WPF) and web technologies (HTML/CSS/JavaScript)
  • Knowledge of ORM frameworks such as NHibernate, LLBLGen, or Entity Framework
  • Experience designing relational databases with SQL Server or Oracle
  • Familiarity with unit testing frameworks like NUnit
